1 How to apply to the Mayor’s Low Carbon Prize Please read all slides before starting to fill in your application Include photos or create figures to support your arguments You can adjust the font-size, but no smaller than 14 Please be concise and provide evidence where it exists Ensure you enclose evidence of your student status in 2012 or 2013 Make sure you submit full contact details Delete this slide once you are finished Deadline: Midday on 17 th May Winners will be announced in an Awards ceremony on 13 th June 2013

2 Remember The submitted idea must contribute towards reducing C02 emissions in the capital Proposals can be for anything as long as it meets the judging criteria. This includes designing a prototype for a new technology, conducting a pilot project to test more efficient ways of doing things or overcoming existing barriers to uptake. It could also be for a research project or dissertation which would result in practical recommendations for actions to reduce carbon emissions in the capital.

3 Judging criteria Originality – what is original about your idea? Practicality – how will your idea be put into action Clarity – keep your idea simple and clear – does your granny understand it? Carbon emissions reductions – does this apply to one person or everyone in London Broader sustainability benefits – does your idea also help biodiversity, reduce waste or create jobs?
