Manufacturers Video display devices (VDDs) – TVs – Computer monitors – Laptops – Netbooks – Notebooks – E-readers – Tablets Can’t sell VDDs to households unless registered 60% recycling obligation – VDDs sold to Indiana households – By weight equivalent, based on sales

Collectors & Recyclers Covered electronic devices (CEDs) – Includes VDDs & much more Covered entities – Households, Small businesses, Public schools Don’t have to be located in Indiana Incentives – Non-metropolitan collection (50%) – Indiana recycler (10%)

Registration & Reporting All registered entities must re-register & report annually – Manufacturers: April 1; June 1 April 1 – March 31 program year – Collectors & Recyclers: any time; April 1 Calendar year program year

Disposal Prohibition IC 13-20.5-10-1 Disposal restrictions Sec. 1. After 2010, a covered entity may not knowingly do any of the following: (1) Mix or allow the mixing of a covered electronic device or any other computer, computer monitor, printer, or television with municipal waste that is intended for disposal at a landfill. (2) Mix or allow the mixing of a covered electronic device or any other computer, computer monitor, printer, or television with any waste that is intended for disposal by burning or incineration.
