Homework & Grading Quizzes, homework, including maintaining an organized notebook and participation in class activities are an important component of the total grade. These daily activities are the essential building blocks of the class. Homework tends to be focused around long-term projects, such as major writing assignments or presentations which require time management skills. Daily homework is usually a short reading, writing, or vocabulary assignment. Tests, projects, compositions, creative writings and essays will account for approximately 50% of the grade. Daily homework assignments are due at the beginning of class for a 100. If late, half credit will be given. Major assignments may be made up, but late assignments will be assessed a penalty unless the student has been granted an extension due to illness or other needs circumstances.

Expectations I expect my students to attempt all assignments stay after school for help when needed use resource time or ELA lab appropriately I also emphasize the use of a planner – making time every day to copy assignments from the board.

Students are expected to use the daily planner that is provided for them, to be in class on a regular basis, to meet assignment deadlines, to make up missed work, and to practice respect and responsibility in the classroom.
