I: GENERAL- BRIEF REPORT NPFS Training on market call points for all sites to enhance the sales of agricultural products by farmers. 54 participants attended the training including data analyst, market fee collector, enumerators e.t.c.A total of 15 million naira was disbursed to 6 sites i.e. Igbalu/Gberigbe,Ayobo/Ipaja, Amuwo/Festac, Ado/Badore and Ibeju/Lekki to implement their 2012 work plan. The selection of the sites were based on their fund recovery performance. Commercial Agricultural Development Project(CADP) Various field visits to existing CIGs & CADA for the purpose of sensitization, mobilization& conduction of need assessments for the preparation of sub-projects under the 3 value chains. 10 nos farm access roads and 7 nos rural energy infrastructures were also implemented fully in areas like Ebute- Afuye, Ise etc as well as 79 capacity building conducted for CIGs on record keeping, group cohesion and conflict resolution in Imuti, Igbogbo, Badore etc. FADAMA IIIThe project information were disseminated through various media e.g Radio both English and Yoruba with lot of impact recorded during the review period. In addition to intervention through productive assets, infrastructure and agro-input, the capacity of project stakeholders was built through trainings and workshops as either demand driven by community organizations and facilitated by service providers or through collaborations with other agencies and non-governmental organizations. A total no. of 1,698 households (39% female) benefitted from various trainings on management, environment related issues and experience sharing activities.10 nos ADP staff received training on the delivery of Extension services and Project Implementation Management.

12. FADAMA III COMPONENT IV The 5 nos Desktop computers, 1 no Laptop computer, 6 nos UPS, 6 nos computer chairs and tables, 1 nos Printer and 50 KVA generator has been operational since being received. Training on quality seed and seedling production for 10 EAs, 10SMSs and 10 farmers by IAR&T in Ibadan in March, 2012 as well as training on floating feed formulation production for 4EAs, 2SMSs and 4 facilitators by Fresh Fish Research Institute, New Bussa. A total of 20 junior personnel graduated at the ICT clinic having being trained for 3 months on computer appreciation and use of internet. RTEP Field monitoring visits was made to all existing RTEP sites in the State as a follow up to ascertain the level of activities to be done on their processing sheds/equipment/machineries procured and capacity of out growers level. In addition, training of 15 agro-processors was done at Ijebu-Ife on value addition to agricultural produce. INPUT SITUATION The input situation in the State has improved e.g fertilizer & agro- chemicals are now readily available to farmers though, the distance from source to production sites are still too far. FERTILIZERAs above. CREDIT Access to credit is still a problem, as most credit institutions (commercial banks) still do not extend credit to small scale farmers’.Some farmers claim that credit comes rather too late and this has made loan repayment not feasible and difficult. AGRO- CHEMICAL Although, a large number of farmers have shown interest in the use of agro-chemicals but the adoption of the principles is still too low. Also, the problem of adulteration has been discovered.

13. Tractor/Animal traction About 45 farmers in the State have benefited from the loans out of 247 farmers that requested. This was attributed to the modalities being used by the officials of the local govt. MTRM situation report MTRM had been held for 12 times in year 2012 with technical messages delivered by Resource persons from various Research institutes anchored by the MTRM team leader for the State. In addition, field visits were usually embarked on before the MTRM in order to be abreast of the challenges faced by farmers on the farms. Local Govt. AreaThe Local Government authorities are still not forthcoming in contributions to the development of agriculture in the state because they do not collaborate with the LSADA on funding of activities as well as honoring capacity-building invitations for their officers.
