6. 2009 PCD Showcase Clinical Scenario PCD Scenario - Overview Male patient, 65 years, coronary artery disease, moderate COPD (smoker), compensated renal insufficiency... Adenocarcinoma of the lower esophagus (close to the entry into the stomach), scheduled for gastrectomy and distal, transabdominal esophagectomy.

7. 2009 PCD Showcase Clinical Scenario PCD Scene #1: OR Patient needs full invasive CV monitoring. Patient will get peridural catheter for postoperative pain management. Patient requires perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis with vancomycin and a third generation cefalosporine.
