A myth is a story that involves immortals (gods and goddesses) and explains a natural event, consequence, or tells a story of a hero. It is based on beliefs that are important to a culture. The hero may or may not be a good role model

Titans – original giants that roamed the Earth Gods – descendants of the Titans Cronos – a Titan Rhea – Cronos’ wife Zeus – only son of Cronos that was not eaten by his father Poseidon and Hades – brothers of Zeus

After reading the Greek Story of Creation aloud, students will identify in a flipbook the following elements of the myth: 1. main character (s) 2. the conflict between the two 3. the outcome that occurred Answer the following question: What event does this myth support? The next two pages of the flipbook will hold the same information regarding the Roman and Egyptian myths

Create a 3 circle Venn Diagram showing the similarities and differences between the Creation stories of the 3 cultures after all have been read. Write your own version of the story of creation; be sure to include main characters, battle, and outcome.
