DIAL VIRTUAL SCHOOL An initiative of the Dakota Interactive Academic Link or DIAL Consortium of schools Started in 2002 to provide high-quality distance learning classes and programs Approved provider for the SD Virtual School Full curriculum to meet SD graduation requirements with SD based highly qualified instructional staff assigned to students. 1840 registrations for 2013-14 school year – 122 Districts

WHICH STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE FUNDED REMEDIAL COURSEWORK? High school seniors at public school districts ACT sub-score falls within 1-2 points of cut scores for more than one subject area -OR- ACT sub-score falls with 3 points of cut score in one subject area All other sub-score scenarios will be on a case-by-case basis Contact SD DOE for individual student approval

HOW DOES THE REMEDIAL PROGRAM WORK FOR STUDENTS? Students take an online proctored exam at school Accuplacer Tailored coursework is generated in MyFoundationsLab Online & self-paced Targets students weaknesses Supported by certified teacher Can be counted towards an elective credit for high school graduation Student takes second proctored Accuplacer Final score is used to determine placement at post-secondary institutions Both BOR and TIs accept Accuplacer scores
