1. Detectives on the run By Grace and Jake

2. Chapter 1 (The detectives) One bright morning in a Spanish seaside town Jake and Grace went into the café Hotdog. The children had a secret meeting with the chef. “Time for a refreshing and relaxing glass of cola,” suggested Jake. The children had just sat down when ……… “ You do not have time,” cried the chef rushing in like a racing car, “the precious golden wine glass is missing.” The children looked devastated and they asked the chef what to do about it.

3. Chapter 1 continued……….. The chef said, “Do you think that you can go on a trip to find the missing precious golden wine glass?” “ Sure, we’ll find it,” replied Jake and Grace as they grabbed their rucksacks, jumped onto their bikes and headed towards the beach. Would they be in time?

4. Chapter 2 (the journey) As they reached the beach they threw their bikes onto the golden sand and raced like cheetahs down to edge of the sea. As Jake and Grace boarded the boat they quickly reached the beastly Island, got off the boat and cautiously tip-toed towards the Castle on top of a hill. They were crowded with old Tropical Trees. The Castle was engulfed with ivy and dusty spider webs hung around the door. The children were terrified but Jake bravely reached out and knocked on the door. At that moment the door creaked slowly open………

5. Chapter 3 (the haunted castle) Cautiously they crept into the haunted hall. Jake and Grace heard creaking footsteps behind them. Suddenly they felt something grab them. “Ahh,” screamed Grace, “its creepy.” “What's creepy,” mumbled Jake, “ Oh that’s creepy, Ahh,” Jake said loudly. They ran and ran as fast as they could checking through every room until…………

6. Chapter 4 (Have they found it…?) The thing followed them every where. Grace gasped to Jake, “ I think we lost it,!” they were both relieved. They walked slowly through the Castle. Grace was scared if it came back again. They saw a robber on a poster and it was the same as the thing they saw. They were both scared and they carried on walking. “Look, what's that. Its shiny, its pretty, it’s the Golden wineglass.”

7. Chapter 5 (the kids are back in town.) Jake jumped up and quickly grabbed the Golden wineglass. “Jake, lets get out of here,” demanded Grace. They got out of the castle, found the river, jumped into the boat and reluctantly made their way home. They found their kits on the sand and headed home. When Grace saw a big sign saying ‘Café hotdog’ she immediately jumped up and told Jake. When they arrived, suddenly……………… “Thank goodness you came. I felt like I was here for a year. Come and have a drink with me.” cried the chef. THE END!
