2. Mapping Scenarios
Mapping of the complete constrained DICOM SR “Basic Diagnostic Imaging Report” to an HL7 CDA Release 2 Diagnostic Imaging Report (Receiver optionally selects relevant portions of the transformed document for inclusion into the clinical document)
Mapping of a subset of the original DICOM SR “Basic Diagnostic Imaging Report” which includes measurement data and the relevant context information (Specification of minimum context information is essential)

3. DICOM SR to CDA Mapping Scope
Header: Mapping of all DICOM SR Header Modules except for:
Specimen Identification (Suppl.122 Work in Progress)
Under Discussion: Clinical Trial Modules
Patient Study Module Clinical Data (Separate Work Item)
Not Covered: Encrypted SR Documents
Body: Mapping of DICOM Template 2000 and all the Invoked Sub-Templates (Constraints are specified in Implementation Guide)
Large Parts of the Header Mapping (Header Modules) and Body Mapping (Observation Context and Measure-ment Templates) can be reused for other Document Types

Although the SR Document Structure is different from the CDA, the mapping of DICOM SR Content Items and Relationships is Possible Based on Template 2000 (e.g. Content Item CONTAINER to CDA Section, Extraction of textual contents to Narrative Text within CDA Section, Handling of By-Reference Relationships)
