© Hertfordshire County Council Mathematics is a life skill… Pupils should talk about their work in mathematics Pupils need everyday situations…pencil and paper not needed e.g. when shopping, in the car or cooking provide opportunities to: – tell the time – use money – weigh objects – read scales – practise times tables – ask questions – solve problems
