1 Survey Supporting the Well-being of Pupils in Essex

2 2 Want to be ahead of the game when Ofsted asks about pupil well-being indicators? Want to have good information on pupil well- being for your SEF? Want to evidence the impact of your work? Want an effective tool based on over 30 years experience of gathering health and well-being information in schools? Want it all for free?

3 3 Yes? Then you may want to take part in the Survey Supporting the Well-being of Children and Young People in Essex. The online (or paper) survey is easy to deliver with pupils from Year 4 through to Year 13. The data is analysed for you and reported back in a clear and easy to use format (including versions for pupils), and completely free as it is funded by us! The survey is developed on our behalf by the Schools Health Education Unit (SHEU) which has over 30 years experience in this area of work.

4 4 School commitment Get support from Headteacher and Senior Management Team in school Sign up Identify a survey coordinator in school Inform parents (letters provided) Contribute an hour of curriculum time and use of IT suites to accommodate survey during January or February Offer support to pupils with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

5 5 Our commitment to you Support from Essex County Council and the Schools Health Education Unit (SHEU) County report and pupil friendly report summarising the views of children and young people in Essex School report outlining your pupils’ responses to each question and comparison with the wider Essex sample Guidance booklet with suggestions on how to use your data Use the research to inform our Essex Joint Service Needs Assessment.
