2 SKIP-AID is a new event to be held August 2013 in Ottawa, Canada. It’s an all-day, alcohol-free family festival with music, rides, food, handicrafts, games and sports At its core is a stone-skipping contest where executives from local organizations challenge each other in teams made up of one executive matched up with a child from one of the partner organizations Executives are also encouraged to bring their own children, nephews, nieces or grandkids to participate

3 SKIP-AID is a benefit for partner organizations including Ottawa Food Bank, Make-A-Wish, Christie Lake Kids and Learn By Doing It is free for children to participate and for their families to attend Executives pay an entry fee and can buy a mulligan if any member of their team needs another skip! SKIP-AID also encourages executives to put their networks to good use by getting pledges—so many cents or dollars per skip!

4 It’s an opportunity for executives and their children to meet and mix with kids from different backgrounds and learn from each other Everyone can skip a stone, some more than others. The world record holder can do 55 skips! Everyone gets three skip attempts and total team scores are averaged so it doesn’t matter if a team has two members or four! Or you can join our Distance Skip category, where it isn’t about “how many” but how FAR you can skip your stone!
