C LASS B EHAVIOR P LAN 3 classroom rules – Be respectful, Be responsible and Be Safe. Classroom Behavior Plan – clip chart. Students will be rated daily in our new school wide agendasIf every student is on green or above by then end of the day, we will earn a pattern ball. Once we earn 25 pattern balls, our class will have an ice cream party. I will throw a pizza party, if we get to 50 days of good behavior. This is a good way for the class to work together as a team. Appropriate student behavior will be rewarded with praise, compliments for the compliment box, class letters and PBIS tickets. Our class has a complement jar. When our class as a whole is given a complement by another staff member, we fill up our jar. When it is full, we will vote and decide on a classroom celebration day. This is just the start I believe in positive reinforcements.

This poster will be sent home the week before they are the Star Student and will need to be completed at home and sent back in. Please copy the pictures or place pictures that can be kept. We will be making a class book with each page. Chair of the Day Each day a student will be chosen to sit on the yoga ball.

T AKE H OME B INDER DAILY AGENDA We will be placing it in the white binder with the plastic cover from your child's school supply list. The front inside pocket will say “return to school” and the back pocket will say “keep at home.” A paperclip will make the page each day. We have also added customized monthly calendar pages that include all of our school events, Box Top reminders, school store dates, etc. which apply to all students. Every student will have a point value (written into their agenda DAILY to communicate their behavior. Across our school, every student has the expectation to read at least 20 minutes every night. To hold students accountable (to the best of our ability) Monday through Friday, on the agenda it says “Nightly Reading Y N ” as well as “Parent Signature _____________”. There is an area each week, Students will be expected to write in their agenda DAILY for students to write their spelling words. This area needs to be written in WEEKLY Paper Decodable Books

V OLUNTEERS I will be ready for volunteers starting the week of the 27 th ! I like to have a Monday morning and Thursday morning volunteer. Monday morning volunteers will be changing out the planner pages and making any needed copies and Thursday morning volunteers will be doing prep work and possible filing. I like volunteers to come in at 7:45 or 8:00 – 10:00. If you would like to stay longer and help, that would be wonderful. You may also volunteer other days of the week. Parents choose a day and then rotate bi-weekly as well. Please e-mail me if you are interested in a volunteer day and depending on the level of interest I will figure out a rotation.

“The Very Hungry Caterpillar” is about hope. Our first graders, like the little caterpillar, will grow up, unfold their wings and fly off into the future. -Eric Carle
