Emergency Communications Assists as city Public Information Officer in the event of an emergency Assists with providing emergency information

Communications Consultation Chairs Communications Advisory Group Chairs Website Advisory Committee Provides assistance to departments and charter offices on request Reviews/edits multiple department communication materials Distributes materials to the media Provides communication trainings to staff

Special Projects Website redesign, mobile website City Manager special projects as assigned, including: Special events, ribbon-cuttings, press conferences, groundbreakings, etc. Public education on items impacting the community (Cabot/Koppers, Moving Alachua County Forward, etc.) Presentations (budget, guest lecturer, etc.)

Civic Education/Engagement Citizens’ Academy City Government Day Annual photo contest

External Communications Publish Municipal Minutes (self- subscribe online), monthly e- newsletter, recipient of Savvy award from 3CMA Press releases (self- subscribe online)

External Communications Maintain front page, news pages, static information pages and department page on the city website Assist other depts. with content management Maintain social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram, etc.)

Annual Citizens’ Report 2006 was the first year the report was produced by the Communications Office Report release coincides with the State of the City Address each January Reports received awards from Florida Public Relations Association and the Government Finance Officers’ Association
