3 Theorem 5-8: Area of a Trapezoid
The area of a trapezoid is half the product of the height and the sum of the lengths of the bases. A = ½ h(b1 + b2)

4 Example: Find the area of a trapezoid with the height of 7 cm, and bases of 12 cm and 15 cm.

6 Real World Example Approximate the area of Arkansas by finding the area of the trapezoid shown.
