The aim of the presentation To introduce young people’s attitudes to ECoC, their willingness to participate and how they could, with their creativity, contribute to the success of ECoC. About the three researches 1. 2007: Department of Sociology at the University of Pécs 600 respondents from three faculties of the university (Medical School, Faculty of Business and Economics, Faculty of Humanities) Self-completion questionnaires Aims: - f ind out the extent of knowledge - e xtent of interest, o pinion about the effects - w hat extent they would want to be involved Adrienn Bognár, University of Pécs

The students’ opinion is important The students are not just the recipients of the local cultural capital, they enrich it with their creativity, ideas and with their open-mindedness Relevant target audience The students will benefit from the ECoC Adrienn Bognár, University of Pécs

The support of the ECoC (2009) The vast majortity of the 18-35 year old age group (third-fourth of them) rather or completely agree that Pécs deserves the title of ECoC.

Summary a significant proportion of youth and the university students would contribute with deeds and ideas it is highly important to mobilize the youth without their ideas and creativity a much poorer, and a much duller ECoC would welcome the interested visitors Adrienn Bognár, University of Pécs
