So, what is it and why do I care? Here’s the must-have data to support these needs. Metadata for content description (Title, Author Summary, Subjects, etc.) Metadata for item description ( Format, Number of items, Run time, etc.) Metadata for commerce (Price, On-Sale Date, Territorial Rights, etc.) Identifier(s) (ISBN, EAN, etc.) Metadata is essential to 21 st century commerce for all product types.
