2. What is an invention?
An object, process, or technique which is created for a purpose by someone or a group of people.

3. What is an inventor?
Someone, or a group, who develops an idea and creates an object, process, or technique for a purpose.

4. CLOCK
The history of clocks is one that is very broad. In ancient times, people developed various ways for telling time.
The word "clock" comes from the French word clothe, meaning bell.
In 1957, Swiss Jost Burgi invented the minute hand which became part of a clock invention made for Tycho Brahe, an astronomer who saw a need for an accurate clock for stargazing.

5. DESKTOP COMPUTER
Many were involved in the creation and development of the computer that we know today. The computer is a very complex piece of machinery made of many parts that are considered separate inventions.
1936 – first freely programmable computer (Z1) by Konrad Zuse.

6. WASHING MACHINE
In 1858, Hamliton Smith patented the rotary washing machine.
In 1874, William Blackstone of Indiana built a birthday present for his wife that was a machine that could remove and wash away dirt from clothing. This was the first washing machine foe convenient use in the home.

was called The Mighty Thor. It was invented by Alva J. Fisher and was patented on August 9th of 1910.

7. DRYER MACHINE The electric clothes dryer appeared around 1915.
There was an early invention of a clothes dryer in 1892 by George T. Sampson. It used heat from a stove to dry clothes and was a ventilator type machine.

8. TRAFFIC SIGNAL LIGHTS
Invented by Garrett A. Morgan and patented on November 20, 1923 after he witnessed a collision between an automobile and horse drawn carriage.

10. ELEVATOR
Elevators were first operated by humans, animals, and water wheel power as early as the 3rd century. Later came steam power elevators and hydraulic elevators.
The electric elevator that we know today was invented in 1880 by a German inventor by the name of Werner von Siemens.

11. MICROWAVE OVEN
The microwave oven was invented by Percy L. Spencer. He made a great discovery during a radar-related research project in around The invention of the microwave oven was a by-product of another technology.
The magnetron that operates most microwave ovens today was invented by Robert Hall.

12. ELECTRIC CLOTHING IRON
Invented and then patented on June 6, 1882
