1 Task Speed Review!

2 Rules 1. You will work cooperatively with your table group
2. You may use the book, notes, and handouts 3. Each round will require a different numbered person to be the recorder (you will all eventually be the recorder) 4. Each round will require paper. You will turn in all tasks at the end for points. 5. Once the task is displayed your team needs to help the recorder complete the task. 6. The first recorder that STANDS will have his/her answers checked first and so on (NO WRTTING WHEN STANDING). 7. 1st team gets 3 points. 2nd team gets 2 points and 3rd team gets 1 point. 8. Team loses points if specific recorder is not recording answers. 9. Top three teams will earn a prize (1st place picks first, then 2nd , then 3rd) Prizes: late pass, candy, 10 pts EC 10. You will earn 15 participation points if you follow the following rules: -I see you working with your group -Using supportive comments -No running -No yelling *Failure to follow these rules will result in a 0 for the days participation points.

3 Task 1 #1’s Define Co-evolution and explain an example
What type of natural selection will most likely result in speciation? Homologous structures are associated with what type of evolution?

4 Task 2 #2’s Name and describe the three types of natural selection.
Include a graph for each one.

5 Task 3 #3’s Create a TREE MAP for the 7 lines of Evidence of Evolution
Include a description underneath each one

6 Task 4 #4’s Name and Describe the 5 factors that push a population out of equilibrium.

7 Task 5 #1’s Convergent and Divergent Evolution
Make a double bubble-thinking map for BOTH of the following pair of terms comparing and contrasting. You need to have at least 1 similarity and 3 differences for each double bubble. Convergent and Divergent Evolution Sympatric Speciation and Allopatric Speciation

8 Task 6 #2’s Define adaptive radiation and explain one example.
Compare and contrast gradualism and punctuated equilibrium

9 Task 7 #3’s What vocabulary word is being depicted?
A population of rabbits suffers a loss of 90% of their population due to a tornado. The female mallard will only mate with the male mallard that displays the most green. A leopard frog mates with a brown frog but the eggs do not develop into an adult. A river forms separating a population of frogs resulting in speciation. The human appendix

10 Task 8 #4’s Draw a picture showing convergent evolution
Draw a picture showing divergent evolution Draw a picture showing allopatric speciation

11 Task 9 #1’s Define variation
Why is variation important to the survival of a population?

12 Task 10 #2’s Determine whether the statement or picture is depicting divergent evolution or convergent evolution. 1 2 Flying fish can fly up to 400 m at a maximum altitude of more than 6 m (20 ft), much like other flying birds, bats and other gliders. 3 4
