WHAT IS FIRST AID This can be described as the emergency care for a victim of sudden illness or injury until more skillful medical treatment is available

Importance of first aid First aid is given to casualties to 1. Preserve life 2. Prevent worsening of condition 3. Promote recovery 4. Relief pain

Basic first aid techniques An individual providing first aid can save lives by maintaining a casualties vital needs, this rule is known as the ABC rule

A= AIRWAY Open the airways to allow unobstructed passage of air

B= breathing An individual can help a victim by giving mouth to mouth or mouth to nose ventilation
