Deliverables: Bi-monthly progress reports through phases 1 to 3 (from M2 to M36) First interim report after phase 1 (M12) Second interim report after phase 2 (M24) Draft final report 2 months before the end of phase 3 (M34) Final report at the end of phase 3 (M36) 15-page executive summary that can be read by a non- specialist Reporting to EU EMODNet Chemistry 2 – Second year plenary meeting, 15-16 June 2015
4
Interim and final reports have to be sent to EU for approval and payments. Reporting to EU
5
Should include summary of work done and what remains to be done, challenges faced, effort spent on data preparing and providing, developing standards (M12, M24, M36). All partners should provide within 6/7/2015 a short summary of their activities, including: Summary of the work done in the second year Challenges encountered during the second year Allocation of project resources per WP All WP leaders/regional leaders should provide within 6/7/2015 a description of activity for the second year The second interim report EMODNet Chemistry 2 – Second year plenary meeting, 15-16 June 2015

Summary – second year: Focused on «Nutrients» Data Aggregation/Conversion/Homogenization by Regional Leaders Available Data converted for Maps generation in unit of «umol/l» Maps will be generated for available Nutrients: PO4 in umol/l Total Phosphorus in umol/l NOx (NO3, NO2+NO3) in umol/l NO3 in umol/l Total Nitrogen in umol/l NH4 in umol/l SiO4 in umol/l Maps will be generated in the 5 EMODNet Regions, per season and all vertical layers WP2 Data Products generation - DIVA horizontal maps
17
Summary – third year: Move to Chlorophyll-a, Oxygen, Organic matter, pH, Alkalinity … data Aggregation/Conversion/Homogenization by Regional Leaders Available Data converted for Maps generation in unit of «ug/l» for Chlorophyll-a unit of «umol/l» for Oxygen, Organic matter, Alkalinity Evaluate if maps can be generated, according to data distribution, Maps will be generated in the 5 EMODNet Regions, per season and all vertical layers. WP2 Data Products generation - DIVA horizontal maps
18
WP2 Data Products generation – Dynamic Time Series Parameters: NO3, NOx, Total Nitrogen, PO4, Total Phosphorus, SiO4, NH4 + Alkalinity, pH, Dissolved Oxygen and Chlorophyll-a Time period: defined by the user (default is 2000-2001) Vertical layers: defined by the user (default is 0-10m) Selecting a parameter you get dynamically (WFS, WPS OGC services): Spatial distributions Time series plots Vertical profiles

WP3 QA/QC - Validation - MSFD interaction WP5 Analyses and Recommendations ISPRA and OGS will give specific presentations on the surveys circulated ICES will present the interaction with MSFD stakeholders and the Commission working groups (WG-DIKE and WG-GES) Two EMODnet-MSFD Coordination Meeting took place in Bruxelles to better coordinate EMODnet activities with MSFD requirements. Requirements on products, metadata and QA/QC procedures. One meeting with UNEP-MAP to find synergies and integration. EMODnet Chemistry may provide maximum impact on MSFD reporting on the Mediterranean and Black Sea Start promotion of 2 nd Expert WS, Oostende, 21 st October 2015 EMODnet Chemistry will support access to data and data products used for MSFD assessments and monitoring
