1 Geosphere By Owen

2 What is The Geosphere? The geosphere is the portion of the Earth that includes the Earth’s interior; rocks and minerals, and the processes that shape the Earth’s surface.

3 What Cycles are Included in the Geosphere?
Sedimentary-sedimentary rocks start from weathering and transport of existing rocks. Then deposition, cementation, and compaction form a sedimentary rock. Igneous-formed by cooling and crystallization of molten rock. Metamorphic-formed when heat or pressure are applied to other rocks.

4 The Rock Cycle

5 What Interactions Occur within this Sphere and Why?
Geosphere and Atmosphere Hurricanes, tsunamis , volcanoes, and wave action Geosphere Volcanic eruption Geosphere and hydrosphere Hurricanes, tsunamis, tectonics, erosion, volcanoes, earthquakes, and wave action Geosphere and biosphere Hurricanes, tsunamis, coal nutrient cycles, and volcanoes

6 Are There Any Layers or Physical Features in the Geosphere?
1.Crust 0-40 miles- The crust is the surface layer of Earth. 2.Upper Mantle miles-Solid rock. 3.Transition Region miles 4.lower mantle miles-Soft rock. 5.D’ Layer miles 6.Outer Core miles-The hot outer core is liquid iron 7.Inner Core Made of iron and nickel.

7 How do Humans Impact the Geosphere?
Humans can impact the geosphere by mining or littering. When we are mining we are taking away things from the geosphere. Littering is harmful to the environment. Litter can attract rats and vermin and cause health problems. It can also harm animals and wildlife, and ruin the quality of water when thrown into rivers or lakes.Polluted water isn’t safe to drink, and polluted soil can’t grow plants to eat.
