What got us here: The Referendum 2013 BC Election Transportation Referendum was a platform promise The Mayors’ challenge: 1.Come up with a vision and priorities 2.Propose how to fund the municipal “share” of that Precedence of “1/3 - 1/3 - 1/3” cost sharing Revenue source : 0.5% addition to PST 3.Propose the wording for a ballot Two key votes December 11, 2014: Mayors Council Approval December 17, 2014: Cabinet Approval

What got us here: The Coalition An unprecedented & diverse collection of organizations with a common enemy: congestion 7 Founding members in late December Now 120+ organizations, 250,000+ contacts 4 coalition co-chairs appointed Business, Labour, Environment, Students The Coalition campaign: In support of, but independent from the Mayors Council campaign. The mission: “Inform & persuade” Conduct the “ground-war”, primarily using the extensive network of Coalition
