WHAT SHOULD YOU HAVE IN PLACE BEFORE APPLYING TO COLLEGE? Seniors bound for a 4 year college should have a portfolio containing information that will help complete the necessary steps for College Applications. This process will be assisted by NAVIANCE. Things to include in the portfolio: A list of 5-10 colleges/universities that you want to apply to SAT/ACT Scores from your Junior Year Copy of your Transcript. A Calendar to help keep track of important dates. An E-mail Account: Make sure it is appropriate for College Admission Officers. Remove spam blockers. Facebook: Remove any pictures or wording that could be offensive if viewed by an Admissions Officer.

Continued…. A completed Resume. A completed “Letter of Recommendation Request” form Identify at least THREE people who have agreed to write Letters of Recommendation for you. A NAVIANCE Account. Results of the NAVIANCE College/Career Searches. A list of Activities and Community Service hours. A draft of your Personal Statement (UC) or Essay for Private Universities.
