2 Health Care is the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health, particularly through the provision of medical services.

3  Approximately 10 million woman die a year due to pregnancy complications and for every woman who dies in childbirth, around 20 more suffer injury, infection or disease. Almost all of child birth related deaths take place in low- resource settings and most could have been prevented.

4  Health provision varies around the world. Almost all wealthy nations provide universal health care (the US is an exception), in poorer nations not so much. Health provision is challenging due to the costs required as well as various social, cultural, political and economic conditions.

5  The United Nations Millennium Development Goals are eight goals that all 191 UN member states have decided to try to achieve by the year 2015. The United Nations Millennium Declaration, signed in September 2000 entrusts world leaders to fight poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation, and discrimination against women

6 The Eight Millennium Development Goals are:  to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger;  to achieve universal primary education;  to promote gender equality and empower women;  to reduce child mortality;  to improve maternal health;  to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases;  to ensure environmental sustainability  to develop a global partnership for development.

7  There are many Global Health issues in our world here are just few:  One billion people lack to health care systems  AIDS/HIV has been spreading rapidly. UNAIDS estimates for 2008 that there were roughly: 33.4 million living with HIV 2.7 million new infections of HIV 2 million deaths from AIDS

8  Tuberculosis- it kills 1.7 million people each year, with 9.4 million new cases a year.  Cardiovascular diseases- (CVDs) are the number one group of conditions causing global deaths. An estimated 17.5 million people died from CVDs in 2005, representing 30% of all deaths. Over 80% of CVD deaths occur in low- and middle- income countries.
