By Dr. Bob The Science Behind Holganix: Holganix and Flowers
4
Does anyone currently use Holganix on flowers?
5
Flower science: below the soil
6
Rhizosphere The soil area surrounding the plant roots
7
Roots Carries 24-30% of plant’s dry weight Responsible for: support water nutrients
8
Roots and the Rhizosphere The roots secrete organic acids, sugars, polysaccharides, enzymes, proteins and amino acids to to attract beneficial microorganisms and to help balance the pH of the soil
9
Why microorganisms rock? Protection from pathogens NUE (nitrogen use efficiency) Influencing plant behavior
11
Flower science: above the soil
12
Phyllosphere Surface of all plant parts above the soil consisting of the plant surfaces and the microoganisms living on those surfaces
13
Parts of the flower
14
Microorganisms and the pyllosphere Secretes organic acids, sugars, polysaccharides, enzymes, proteins and amino acids to attract and influence the behavior of microorganisms and to help balance the pH of the plant surface
17
What’s in the jug? Holganix concentrated compost tea selected to promote flowering Ingredients favor bacteria over fungi (why – to prevent damping off)
18
What are the benefits? Microorganisms provide beneficial relationships that promotes flowering.
19
What are the benefits? In specific? Holganix promotes: Bud initiation Bud growth Flower initiation Flowering size Color intensity

26
Storage Store in a refrigerator, between 33 and 44 degrees to ensure the freshness of the product.
27
Just starting applications? Already planted your flowers? First application = 10 oz per 1,000 square feet Spray plants to runoff and drench the soil
28
Just starting applications? Planting flowers? Apply at planting or within the first 7 days following planting Combine 2.25 gallons Bloom with 200g water
29
After the first application 3.33 oz Holganix Bloom per 1,000 sq ft Combine.75 gallons Holganix with 200 gallons of water Spray plants to runoff and drench the soil
30
Using fertilizers? Fertilizer in combination with Bloom: 1/8lb of nitrogen per 1,000 sq ft Suggested fert: 20-20-20 or 30-0-0
