We need to focus on the value of the Storwize software. This what we need to sell. Ensure customers understand the value on the three keys areas; Storwize is Efficient, easy & dependable All the points we have just covered. Once we have our customers bought into our Software Defined Storage value, that we have the infrastructure that matters, we need to help them pick the right engine to run it. Very similar to how customers choose an application, and then choose the server platform to run it. It could well be their budget, or their future scalability that determines the right engine for their environment. Or if they are particularly sold on a couple of specific features, again that will help narrow in on the right “engine” to propose. Focusing on the Storwize software value, and articulating these values is the key. Some competitors have inefficient code running on their storage devices, requiring high specification hardware, with larger processors, larger cache etc.. They will then try to turn the debate, or set the agenda with the customer, that hardware spec comparisons are the key measurement to determining the right solution. With these new engines, we do not be afraid of such comparisons, but to allow this to become the focus, it to sell our systems short. We must sell the value of Storwize. Ensure our customers understand the value Storwize brings. How much more efficient, easy and dependable it is, to address their issues with data growth, administrative burden and providing an always-on environment, ultimately leading to more projects being delivered on-time and within budget.
