Provide a modern, high capacity platform that allows for the interaction of all Councils in Victoria in a commercial and technological architectural context Caters for an “opt in” model so that Councils can determine when to join that environment in accordance with the opportunities and constraints surrounding each individual Council Have the ability to include appropriate growth in terms of capacity and architecture to future proof for the next 5 years at a minimum Moving towards a Local Government Private Cloud | Andrew Johns | August 2014Page 7 Suggested Methodologies for a Local Government Private Cloud

Allow for a single point of entry from each Council through which can be delivered all ICT required services, i.e. from another Council, another approved centre, State and Federal government centres and those external to government including the Internet Ensure that the above can be conducted in an environment that ensures the required level of security and integrity and can provide the ability for individual Council networks to remain private where appropriate Provide such an ICT platform in a manner that is commercially affordable and sustainable in the Local Government sector in Victoria and is at all times competitive and contestable with multiple providers at each desired layer Moving towards a Local Government Private Cloud | Andrew Johns | August 2014Page 8 Suggested Methodologies for a Local Government Private Cloud
