The Sphere The maximum distance through the sphere is called the diameter, it is twice the size of the radius. A sphere is a perfectly round three dimensional shape similar to a round ball you might play soccer or basketball with. All points on the surface of a sphere are the same distance from the center. The Cube A cube is a three dimensional shape that features all right angles and a height, width and depth that are all equal Most dice are cube shaped, featuring the numbers 1 to 6 on the different faces. A cube is a special geometric shape that falls into a number of groups including platonic solids and regular hexahedrons. Back To Object Slide
6
The Octagon An octagon has 8 straight sides. When all angles are equal and all sides are equal it is regular, otherwise it is irregular. Has interior angles that add to 1080 degrees Back To Object Slide
7
The Cylinder A cylinder is a three dimensional object with a circular base and straight parallel sides that looks similar to a can of coke. Right Cylinder: A right cylinder is a cylinder in which the centers of the bases are aligned directly one above the other. Oblique Cylinder: When the centers of the bases of a cylinder are not aligned directly one above the other, it is called an oblique cylinder. ex: Back To Object Slide

The Cone The cone has a flat base, one curved side, and because it has a curved surface it is not a polyhedron. A cone is a three dimensional object with a circular base that narrows toward a point, it looks similar to an ice cream cone. The cone has one vertex. Back To Object Slide
9
The Rectangular Prism is… A prism with rectangular bases. There are six faces. All faces meet at 90 degrees. Opposite faces are parallel. Back To Object Slide
