Introduction An expanded school health program is a means of improving the health status of American youth. The younger generation has to be made aware of all the consequences surrounding an inadequate way of life, whether it is personal hygiene, nutrition or physical activity. Technology is playing a key role in establishing today’s elementary health education program. Enjoy this one minute video outlining my goals for today’s presentation (hyperlinked). Summary Findings I reviewed 20 web sites that can assist any elementary health educator in not only lesson and unit planning, but all the other ingredients that make up a coordinated school health program. Although I will not give a detailed view of all 20 sites, I will provide a link in my Additional Resources to access all these unique sites. Here is one example: http://www.instructorweb.com/health.asp http://www.instructorweb.com/health.asp This web site includes health lesson plans, printable worksheets, lessons, and other teaching material and resources. I like the fact that many of the worksheets are ready to print. This web site includes health lesson plans, printable worksheets, lessons, and other teaching material and resources. Detailed Findings I hope you find the following five sites of good value and information. I have included one site geared towards students, two government sites with unlimited health resources, and two sites with the emphasis on planning and creating a better classroom for the health environment I truly believe that a first year health teacher could use these five sites and plan his or her entire curriculum for the school year.
