7. Task: Work in pairs Hints: Try to set criteria. i.e is a popular Prime Minister always the best Prime Minister? Try to identify the relevant/irrelevant material from the text. Think about the period they were having to run the country (was it possible to make major changes, or were there serious problems which limited the possibility of changes?) Which Prime Minister should have a statue on the 4 th plinth of Trafalgar Square?

Summer Task: If you wish to take the AS Politics course next year, we expect you to come to the first lesson in September with the following task completed: Reading a quality daily newspaper is essential in keeping up to date with the views and events within Government and Politics. Quality dailies = The Guardian; The Times; The Daily Telegraph; The Independent (Sunday Times & Observer) NOTE: Many of the major newspapers have online versions which you can use (also will save you money!) – The Times content is however no longer free to access. Task: Over the summer you need to keep a record of key political events and bring in to the first lesson at least 5 articles/editorials which you have highlighted and annotated with your points.
