18 Funding for EU Students UNDERGRADUATE Two options: Erasmus (tuition fees and grant for living costs) The Students Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) (tuition fees only)

19 SAAS FUNDING FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS At undergraduate level, the number of SAAS funded places is not limited – as EU students, you will be eligible as long as you plan to graduate from UWS, i.e. at the end of year 3 or 4. Apply to the University/UCAS You must receive an ‘Unconditional Offer’ for entry to an undergraduate degree programme You will be sent a SAAS Award letter, bring this with you to enrolment. Once you have received your Unconditional Offer letter, you MUST complete the appropriate form on the SAAS website

20 POSTGRADUATE FUNDING A limited number of SAAS funded postgraduate places are available every year. Please apply early. In the funding section of the application form, You MUST write that you wish to be considered for SAAS funding If you are allocated a funded place, the School will notify you in May/June 2009 You will be sent a SAAS Award letter, bring this with you to enrolment. If you are notified that you have a funded place, you MUST complete the appropriate form on the SAAS website

21 Application Processes There are slightly different application processes depending on whether you will be an Erasmus student, a SAAS funded student or a postgraduate student Your International Office can advise and assist you or you can contact UWS for guidance Key things to remember after you have applied: You need an UNCONDITIONAL offer before you can come to the University or reserve a room in accommodation Once you know your end of year results from your University in Poland, you need to submit these to us straightaway to enable us to convert your offer to unconditional and to secure your accommodation Your International Office can confirm your results to us by e-mail so please notify them as soon as your results are known

22 Application Processes There are different application processes depending on circumstances: I am coming for 1 trimester I am an Erasmus student I am coming for one academic year (2 trimesters) Apply DIRECT using Exchange Application Form I am applying to more than ONE UK university Apply using UCAS I am applying to ONLY UWS Please contact UWS in the New Year to find out if a Direct Application form is available

24 Application Processes - Postgraduate I am a postgraduate student Apply DIRECT to the University. Download application form from the University website.

25 EU Summer School Free summer study is available at the University during Trimester 3 Modules from Computing, Science, Engineering and Business Business English also available Summer School will run from mid July until August 2009 (6 weeks) Tuition free – students only pay a package price for accommodation Modules & full details still to be confirmed. Full details will be forwarded when available.
