2. Lessons for the Last Day Joshua at Jericho begins with “Joshua [Jesus] rose early in the morning” on the first day, as the resurrection of Jesus began the Gospel Age. The 7 days around Jericho divides the Gospel Age into 7 periods of time; 7 times on the last day divides the Harvest into 7 periods also. The 10 plagues of Exodus are in the present evil world; specifically they span the Gospel Age. Moses assumes the dominant role only for the 7 last plagues, which fall only on the Egyptians; these span the Harvest. The 3 days to the Red Sea show the 1000 Year Kingdom of Christ; crossing the Red Sea is Satan’s Little Season; the final 3 days in the wilderness picture the perfect ages of eternity. [Vol. 6, p. 457-459] T he 7 messengers with 7 trumpets (Rev 8-11) also span the Gospel Age, as do the 7 letters by the 7 messengers (Rev 2-3). The 7 last plagues (Rev 16) span the Harvest. Ex 10:20 “Jehovah hardened Pharaoh’s heart.” Ex 10:23 “…but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” Ex 10:24-27 [Pharaoh forbids taking along animals for sacrifice.] Ex 10:28 “…see my face no more; for in the day thou seest my face thou shalt die.” 2Kings 2 Elijah is called to come out of a city 3 times, before being taken up. Gen 19:15-30 Lot stopped at Zoar before continuing on to the mountain What should we do now? Does the church have a mission at the present time? Change our own characters – sanctification Php 2:12 Help others (a greater proportion are aged and infirmed) Gal 6:10 Get out of debt; stay out of debt: Not to save one’s own hide, but that the ministry be not blamed 2Cor 6:3 Youth need special attention (especially during East vs. West conflict period) Sacrifice while we have wherewithal to do it (personal efforts, through ecclesias, service organizations, etc.) Witness: Not to show how smart we are, but to help people prepare, and to let them know that God already knows Encourage Jews to make aliya (return to Israel) while times are still favorable The Plagues 2.
