2 Humanism The inspiration of the art of ancient Greece and Rome – human form was the epitome of perfection. Man was the “measure of all things.” In other words, in the ancient world, man was worshipped instead of God. Renaissance humanism did not abandon belief in God as modern secular humanism does however, it led to a false assumption of man’s goodness
