SEEGRID PSC 06 Meeting – Sarajevo, 22.11.2007 24 Hungary Report on May-November 2007:  NGI organization and Consortium expansion  Additional JRU established with 3 members in total: DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY at ELU and SEISMOLOGICAL OBSERVATORY of GGRI –The current JRU has been formed by two smaller application developer/user teams and one team that deals with grid development, operation, support, and training. This 'satellite' JRU will exploit the nationwide Grid resources (operated by the another HGCC JRU) together with other international resources for a specific purpose, namely for applications in the field of seismology and meteorology.  the Hungarian Grid Competence Center (HGCC), involving the key and most experienced Grid players from Hungary, has launched the National Grid Initiative and intends to become the national reference point. –HGCC establish another JRU.  SZTAKI is member in both JRUs –The management of two separated JRUs with different objectives (instead of one heterogeneous JRU) and with different leaders seems to be more feasible.

SEEGRID PSC 06 Meeting – Sarajevo, 22.11.2007 48 Turkey Report on May-November 2007:  NGI organization and Consortium expansion  1 new member – Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEA)  TR-Grid JRU was formed in August 2007 with 9 members of NGI  eInfrastructure national strategy + policy documents  TR-Grid Strategy, Site and User Policy documents were finalized and announced to grid community in Turkey.  As the decision policy maker TR-Grid NGI, “TR-Grid Advisory Board” was initiated by Management Board of TUBITAK ULAKBIM.  eIRG plans  The membership of TUBITAK to eIRG was approved.  National-level projects  TR-Grid e-Infrastructure Project has been extended until the end of June 2007 and total project budget was increased to 800K Euro

ULAKBIM and AGMLAB developed an academic research engine which will use TR-Grid infrastructure and grid services.  AGMLAB (SME specialized in the semantic and search engine areas) developer of “Academic Research Engine Application for Grid”  EDA Engineering and Analysis (SME specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics)  ROKETSAN Missiles Industries Inc. (leading the national rocket and missile research and production programs)

Minimum site configuration is 64 core and 1 Tbyte storage area. As total 1000 cores and 40 Tbyte storage.  The new HPC inifiniband 240 cores cluster with 12 Tbyte raw storage is also operational.  Sites migrated to EGEE production  All of the 8 sites are part of EGEE infrastructure
