3 Membership Individual membership of the professional body for all in policing “A professional body, professional organisation, or professional society is usually a non-profit organisation seeking to further a particular profession, the interests of individuals engaged in that profession, and the public interest”

4 Membership Services Developing policing as a profession Professional means: –Reliance on a code of ethics –Reliance on a knowledge or evidence base in setting standards and making key decisions –A clear regime of licensing, accreditation and/or qualifications –A system of continuous professional development Transition from individuals acting in a professional manner to membership of a body with published and transparent standards and principles Supporting the needs of individuals both collectively and individually

10 Where are we and timeline Membership IT system purchased in August - Protech Engaging with business areas and stakeholders to ‘configure’ Initial delivery for Q1 in 2015 for first implementation and standard membership –Federated login and other core services including CPD, course and event booking Consulting with potential members on premium services
