Review: What are the two types of speeches we’ve discussed? This kind depends on your previous experience and knowledge. This kind involves preparation, but not memorization. The the most common and appropriate?

Senior Speech Review: Given at the “spur of the moment”. Examples are sermons, teaching a class, political speeches. It’s O.K. to use an outline or brief notes. If speaking was your choice, you can really raise your image with this kind of speech.

Senior Speech Review: In this kind of speech, preparation builds confidence. A great way to “connect” with the audience. A disadvantage is that you have to be able to deliver it fluently (think and speak at the same time). This great speaker was nicknamed “The Great Communicator”.

Types of Speeches 4.Memorized Speeches Advantages? Confidence in exact wording (if you remember it correctly!) Disadvantages: Difficult to deliver well, fear of forgetting, the amount of time needed to memorize it
