What is AutoData ExpertScan with NetE-nable? ExpertScan with NetE-nable… is turnkey software for surveys and forms. ExpertScan creates scannable surveys and forms, automatically processes completed forms, and analyzes responses—giving you three key functions in a single, easy-to-use software package. You may also distribute the survey or form online via NetE-nable, the optional Web add- on to ExpertScan software.

Why Automate Survey and Form Processing? Features:  ExpertScan helps you expertly design scannable forms that can be read with an imaging scanner, or create web forms that a participant completes online.  The software picks up responses in handprint boxes, checkmark boxes, comment boxes, and barcodes, capturing the data.  Data from completed paper or electronic Web forms is collected and analyzed by ExpertScan.  Automatic, easy-to-read reports provide data for improved decision-making.

Why Automate Survey and Form Processing? Benefits:  Saves you time: manual data entry and analysis are significantly reduced or eliminated entirely.  Saves money: personnel can accomplish more in less time; expensive survey/data entry outsourcing can be eliminated.  Quickly gets you accurate, easy-to-understand data for improved decision-making.

Automate 3 Key Functions 1. Design your form with a simple software interface. 2. Process completed forms with an imaging scanner, or collect data via electronic Web forms; ExpertScan places data into a Microsoft Access database that it creates for you. 3. Automatically analyze results and create professional, easy-to-read reports. Database

Form Design Overview With ExpertScan’s easy-to-use software interface:  Choose from 5 scannable object types.  Easily create scannable objects using built-in templates (such as SSN or date fields) or  Customize your forms with readily modified pre- defined response scales.  Extensive editing tools make form design and layout quick and easy.

Form Design Getting Started 0 1 6 3 of the Locators combine to form a hexadecimal Form ID. 0 0 6 = 006 Two locators at the bottom right are hexadecimally embedded with the number of pages in the form. 5 Locators automatically appear on a blank form to aid with scan accuracy Title

Form Design 5 Scannable Object Types  ExpertScan’s Toolbar provides handy point- and-click access to important form design tools. Handprint (ICR) Checkmark (OMR) Comment Capture Key Entry Barcode

Form Design –  Checkmark Field (OMR) Creates this OMR object... This dialog box... The response grid can be circles or squares, and is user-defined. This is a sample of True/False OMR. Other predefined responses include Yes/No, Good/Poor, Agree/Disagree and Satisfied/Dissatisfied. Custom responses may also be created, either scaled or non-scaled.

Form Design  Barcode This dialog box... Creates this object... *SCAN T* Barcodes can be used to track locations, personnel, customers, departments, or any other category you would like to track in the reports.

Form Design Non-scannable Elements Allows 5 types of non-scannable elements:  Form title  Section headers  Text (such as form instructions)  Blank spaces  Scalable graphics, including logos

Form Design Completing the Process After the form has been designed…  Save, then print (commercial, professional quality photocopies, laser or inkjet printer output) and test the form, or Publish it to the Web using NetE-nable.  Distribute the paper forms, and/or email to participants the Internet link that NetE-nable generates (link may also be posted on a website).  Collect completed paper forms or surveys and you’re ready to start scanning, or retrieve the NetE-nable data from the secure AutoData server.

Form Design Completing the Process (continued) After the form has been designed…  Form design is a one-time event. Unless the form design changes, no further upfront work is required.  All form fields are tracked: Data is accurately placed in the Access database during the scanning process; data from completed Web forms is stored on the secure AutoData server until the NetE-nable retrieval Wizard removes the data from the server and places it in the Access database, where it joins any data collected via scanning paper forms.

Scan & Process Overview  ExpertScan software interfaces with TWAIN- compliant scanners.  Scanner must have Automatic Document Feeder(ADF).  Place stack of completed forms in scanner hopper and begin scanning.  Scan and process forms in a single pass.

Scan & Process Overview (continued)  Extracts data from surveys or forms using imaging scanner.  Verifies data against established criteria.  Flags questionable data for operator verification.  Creates Access database and automatically places data into your database. DATABASE 0 0 FORM

Scan & Process Process and Verify Forms  Verification occurs during scanning and processing.  Scannable objects are checked for readability and data integrity.  Questionable fields are automatically flagged for operator verification.  Questionable characters are easy to spot.  Data is edited live during the scan session.

Scan & Process Unique ICR Technology  Patented SmartMemory™ technology learns different handprint styles over time.  Software grows “smarter” the more it is used.  Operator verification decreases over time because ExpertScan grows more accurate in interpreting handprint. B E S T

NetE-nable Process  Participant clicks on Internet link that NetE-nable generates.  Electronic Web form appears and participant completes it online using a mouse.  Participant clicks “Submit” and all data is saved on the secure AutoData server until the ExpertScan software user removes it with the NetE-nable retrieval Wizard.

Data Collection Process Placing Data in the Database  ExpertScan with NetE-nable automatically creates a Microsoft ® Access database and places data directly into the database, which may be copied and then used to create any additional custom reports and analysis.  @ Dell # IBM @ Sony 0 0 0 Complete Scan # IBM CapturePlace Database

Form-Database-Report Relationships  ExpertScan automatically assigns a field name to each scannable element.  Data from completed forms is sent directly to the database when forms are scanned; when forms are filled out online, data is stored on the AutoData secure server until retrieval by NetE-nable.  ExpertScan draws data from Microsoft Access and automatically creates reports.  Data can be exported to a comma-delimited text file and imported into another database program for manipulation, if desired.

ExpertScan with NetE-nable analyzes your data and creates reports –  You: Set time interval and tabulation rules Select questions to be included in your report Add any custom (explanatory) text and/or logo Choose the type of report to be generated  ExpertScan with NetE-nable: Creates bar graph, pie chart, trend line and comment capture reports automatically Calculates totals, percentages, mean and standard deviation for each question or statement Data Analysis and Reports
