Landing your first full-time job is part of entering a new life stage. Life Stage: A period in your physical and emotional journey through life. Life Stages During Your Career: Adolescence Early Adulthood Middle Adulthood

Before deciding to have a place of your own, weigh the advantages and disadvantages of living at home. Things to consider: Living at home is less expensive that living independently. A sense of pride and responsibility accompany having your own place. Having your own place is very time consuming. If you live on your own you may need to find a roommate to help with costs.

Prepare a budget to help you estimate how much it will cost for you to live on your own to help you locate places you can afford. Your budget should include: Rent Utilities Telephone Cable Food

When you rent a property you will need to fill out a rental application. The manager will check your financial history to see whether you will be a good tenant. If you are approved, you will sign a rental agreement or a lease. When you sign your lease, you will probably need to pay a security deposit. Security Deposit: Money you pay to cover any damage you might cause to the property.

Create a comfortable home Establish good housekeeping habits: Develop a system for paying bills on time. Set aside time each work for housekeeping. Develop good habits. Leant to cook healthful meals.

Identify ways to balance your work and personal life. Name some company policies that help employees balance work and family life. Explain your role as a citizen and identify ways to participate in the community.
