3 December 1, 2008 ERCOT Anti-Trust Admonition ERCOT strictly prohibits Market Participants and their employees who are participating in ERCOT activities from using their participation in ERCOT activities as a forum for engaging in practices or communications that violate the antitrust laws. The ERCOT Board has approved guidelines for members of ERCOT Committees, Subcommittees and Working Groups to be reviewed and followed by each Market Participant attending ERCOT meetings. If you have not received a copy of these Guidelines, copies are available at the Client Relations desk. Please remember your ongoing obligation to comply with all applicable laws, including the antitrust laws.

5 December 1, 2008 SOTE cases available for review by TSPs starting Dec 1, 2008 Market Operations Test Environment / Systems Operations Test Environment RTNET & STNET– SE Solution: –State estimator solution –Modified date indicates when the solution was completed –Will be 2 savecases: RTNET and STNET. RTNET savecase will allow MPs to see the telemeter data. STNET savecase will allow MPs to modify case for their studies Base Case: –Is an ENTIRE STNET case “OPS_BASECASE” NETMOM CTGS RASMOM Options & Settings And others –Should be loaded prior to running STCA –Only needs to be loaded after an ERCOT database load. The Network Model currently in Nodal SOTE is a converted Zonal Model

6 December 1, 2008 SOTE cases available in the future (closer to go live) Market Operations Test Environment / Systems Operations Test Environment Current Case: –A daily snapshot of our model –Always ahead of what is in the production system. Transfer Case: –OC_TRANS1 to 34 –Specific outage study These two case types are currently available in Zonal MOTE.

12 December 1, 2008 Right Click to get dropdown. Select Retrieve. NOTE: Update will save the case presently in your clone over the case you have selected – Careful! This display is sometimes static from the last time a case was retrieved. If you wish only to see the time-stamp of the latest available file then push “Update List”. Otherwise, when you Retrieve a case, the display will auto- update the timestamp of the file being retrieved.

14 December 1, 2008 The Basecase has been loaded as shown by the pop-up below. Click OK. Now repeat for the STNET “REALTIME_MARKET_SESOLUTION” Right Click to get dropdown. Select Retrieve.

16 December 1, 2008 Select OK… all STNET displays are updated. Select this icon which directs to relative displays… The relative display at this point is the Savecase Application Directory, for which we will load the RTNET case.

18 December 1, 2008 Now repeat for the RTNET “REALTIME_MARKET_SESOLUTION” Right Click to get dropdown. Select Retrieve. After the two pop-ups are“OK”ed… All RTNET displays are updated. Note: only one RTNET Clone exists for everyone, therefore when one person retrieves a new RTNET case, all others have their RTNET displays updated. After cases are loaded, you may wish to click on this folder icon to search manually generated onelines with analogs filled from the loaded RTNET case. The screen will split vertically as shown here… User must select Application “RTNET” and all available onelines will appear. Select station to view one-line.

19 December 1, 2008 Indicates valid solution Displays are updated after loading a case, Run Solution is not required unless if you are manipulating equipment or options for your own study If you wish to temporarily save your study, go to Data Retieval

20 December 1, 2008 Saving a case is allowed, but will only be kept until midnight. Simply type the case name and click Save. All characters will be saved to uppercase.
