Long-term Goal To differentiate and measure browsing time with DNS and without DNS on Linux and Windows OS of IGNOU WIKI website. Migration of IOCG wiki from current machine to HP ML- 350 server. Configure lamp & Mediawiki (with debian)

Long-term Goal Take application as well as MySQL dump & transfer to new server hp (ML-350) Configure reverse proxy (pound) in dmz machine to faster http response as well as increase security for IOCG wiki Test & commission SVN-cum-file server in another hp ml-350 server

Long-term Goal Use current IOCG machine to serve as DNS server after migration of IOCG wiki service to HP ML-350 server is completed. Configure cfengine in dmz machine Configure OpenLDAP(Light weight directory access protocol) server with LAMP and Mediawiki installation for viable integration with IOCG Wiki. Documenting current ignou network details in svn server.

Work which we have done Hardware RAID(Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) 5 configuration (Learned) Install and document the installation of host operating system as Debian 5.0 on HP ML-350 server. Install and test the compatibility of OpenVZ kernel and associated pre-configured Debian template. Document the issues faced and remedies at every step.

Work which we have done Configure Apache server (if not pre- installed), MySQL server and PHP5 which is a pre-requisite for Mediawiki installation in the base operating system and document the issues faced and how to solve them. Once confident, stop apache and mysql server in the base operating system.

Work which we have done Once confident, stop apache and mysql server in the base operating system. Next install openssh-server in the base operating system. Use vim to edit the file /etc/apt/sorces.list and add the following line at the end of the file deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian sid main.

Work which we have done Currently, Mysql is running from vps 115 And MediaWiki, PHP 5 and Apache is running from 110 vps

Task which we have to do Next configure the network for OpenVZ with the ip address for the OpenVZ interface as 172.28.23.20 Capture and document all the configuration details screen during the Mediawiki installation

Strengths and Advantages OpenVZ [4] is a Linux-based OS-level server virtualization technology. It is the open source basis of Virtuozzo, a commercial virtualization tool from SWsoft [18]. It allows creation of multiple secure, isolated virtual environments (VEs) on a single node enabling server consolidation.

Disadvantages IIn worst case if power supply of the server lost then all services or application running on the server will be stopped IIf hardware Failure occurred then also hard to maintain all files and database and same will happened which is mention above TTo handle the above situation we have very powerful ups backup and very reliable system.
