Section III: Consumer Outreach Section Requirements: ▫Must have 4 eligible activities within 3 of the categories ▫Must provide documentation for each activity ▫Activities must occur during current cycle ▫Cannot use same activity twice ▫Includes advocacy & public relations components

Category 1: Being the “Voice for Real Estate” Promote market stats, real estate trends/issues to the public EXAMPLE ACTIVITIES: Submit monthly MLS statistics to local newspaper Post C.A.R. News Release on AOR’s Facebook page Retweet NAR Economists’ Outlook Post video on website of association president providing context to local real estate data Add the FREE REALTOR® Content Resource widget to your association website

Category 2: Community Involvement Promote the value proposition of using a REALTOR® and/or engaging in community activities which enhance the REALTOR® image. EXAMPLE ACTIVITIES: Host a workforce housing forum Run a TV, radio or print ad from C.A.R.’s Consumer Ad Campaign in local market Participate in a small business fair Sponsor a homeownership fair Provide materials to help members reach out to consumers directly

Category 3:Advocacy Efforts Engage the public in legislative/political issues that impact real estate and related issues. EXAMPLE ACTIVITIES: Host a Candidate Forum for upcoming local election Submit op-ed letter to local paper addressing a local policy issue Engage in an Issues Mobilization program Distribute “On Common Ground” magazine to local officials Conduct a Candidate IE Campaign Issue polling and research Mobilize members to ask clients to contact local representative on an issue

Category 4: Community Investment Organizing human resources or fundraising for the benefit of charitable/community organizations. EXAMPLE ACTIVITIES: Participate in a Habitat for Humanity build REALTOR® members volunteer at a local homeless shelter Organize REALTOR® participation in a food drive Host a fundraiser for a local charitable organization Note: a direct charitable monetary donation is NOT considered an eligible activity
