9. Breaking down shading Look at each shape (can you re-draw with shapes or just with pen) Look for stroke and fill colors Look for linear and radial gradients

Gradient Tool To change angle of gradient (make sure your object is selected) type it in the gradient palette To add another color to gradient, click below gradient slider Set “blend” by clicking on white squares above If you want to change back to a solid fill, at the bottom of your tools palette, select the solid fill Color icon

Mesh Gradients (advanced- on your own) The Gradient Mesh tool is used to create more complex gradients Draw a shape Click on the Gradient Mesh tool Click on the shape You control colors by selecting the nodes (you do not use the Gradient Tool Palette) Once you have a MG, you can’t undo it!
