What is Alpha Omega? Professional Fraternity Over 100 local student and alumni chapters worldwide Membership of over 13,000 dentists Including general dentists, dental specialists, dental educators, administrators, and researchers. Represented in 16 countries including: USA, Canada, Europe, Israel, South America, Australia, and South Africa

What is Alpha Omega? Objectives of Alpha Omega Promote the profession of dentistry Establish a spirit of fellowship Develop high standard of scholarship amongst members

Alpha Omega History Founded in 1909 by Jewish students at Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery and the Dental College of Baltimore Combating undemocratic attitudes and policies toward minority groups in graduate school Banded students promoted fraternal spirit Supporting their scholastic endeavors Protecting their rights and interests

Today we believe any prejudice is contrary to true fraternalism Alpha Omega is truly a nonsectarian organization Many members are of other religious faiths Constitution of fraternity allows membership to those “of sound mind and good character” Diversity is paramount to the future of Alpha Omega Alpha Omega History

Membership Student chapter members Includes both dental students & residents First time initiation dues: National – $55 Local – $20 or Both – $70 Annual dues: National student members – $30 Local student members – $20

International Student Representatives Elected to a one-year term Act as direct liaison between the student members as a member of the Board of Directors Assist the Student Affairs Committee in planning and conducting all student seminars and shall act as Chair of a student seminar to be held at the annual convention.
