There is a lot of meaning within this picture: A single UC Manager cluster can now provide a converged call control platform for all forms of real time collaboration clients: voice, video, TelePresence, instant messaging & presence, multiparty conferencing, audio and video recording applications such as MediaSense, etc. While customers may still want to keep these separate for political/organizational reasons, there is no longer any technical need to do so. VCS Expressway is positioned as the enterprise collaboration edge going forward, providing secure communications between an enterprise network and (1) cloud conferencing services such as Webex OneTouch, business-2-business (B2B) and business-2-consumer (B2C) calling, and remote access for home office/mobile clients. TMS is positioned as the TelePresence scheduling platform going forward. Conductor provides bridge load-balancing and port management VCS Control provides interoperability gateway services to legacy H.323 videoconferencing systems and to 3rd-party/proprietary applications such as Microsoft Lync Cisco’s architecture is all SIP-based, with H.323/SIP conversion taking place where necessary to interoperate with H.323 at the edge TelePresence Server
