The Amazon Rain Forest The Amazon has the world's largest tropical rainforest. The Amazon River is 6,500 miles long. The Amazon River has 16% of the worlds water.

Why the Rain forest is important to protect. medicinal plants, fruits, nuts, oils and other resources like rubber, chocolate and chicle. Plants provide us with oxygen to breath. If you cut down the plants more carbon dioxcide is in the air.

Persian Gulf The Persian Gulf is 600 mile long and 34 miles wide.

Sahara Desert The Sahara Desert was used for many reasons such as caravans so people could trade. The Sahara Desert is 3,000 miles from east to west. Desertification the transformation of arable ( land that you can farm on) or land to desert, because of a change in climate or destructive land use.

Himalaya Mountains The Himalayas were formed one billion years ago. It is located in India. These mountains are so high it leads to ethnocentrism (when you think your race is the best).

English Channel The English Channel runs between Britain and France. It kept the two countries apart from each other. 1785 Blanchard and Dr. John Jeffries crossed the Channel by balloon.
