Review of Project Progress and Results This is an opportunity to check on the overall progress of the project(s) by examining the project action plan. Consider including answers to the following questions: – Is the project on track? If not, is this a trend that needs a strategic adjustment or a one-time occurrence? – Can this project be linked to other business initiatives? – Are the project results what were expected? Consider including simple charts and graphs of the project milestones or expected versus actual results – Are there any systemic issues that need to be addressed, looking across all projects past and current? – Are there any insights from the project that will be useful for future planning? Simple charts and graphs of the project milestones and expected versus actual results are useful 2 eGuide Level 1, Step 5.1 Management Briefing Template © 2014 GTRC and US DOE

Review of Energy Performance This is an opportunity to show how the project(s) that is underway relates to overall energy performance. Consider presenting summary graphs of energy consumption over time, providing top management with an opportunity to understand how the project fits into the overall energy picture. This is a time to discuss long-term goals for energy performance and to check to determine if project energy savings are being sustained 3 eGuide Level 1, Step 5.1 Management Briefing Template © 2014 GTRC and US DOE

Review of Support Systems Equally important to the actual project progress, results, and energy performance, is to check to see how the related support systems are working. Key support systems include energy data tracking, controls (e.g., operational, purchasing, etc.), documentation, training, roles and responsibilities, and communication. Attention to support systems helps to maintain energy savings 4 eGuide Level 1, Step 5.1 Management Briefing Template © 2014 GTRC and US DOE
