Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of 2015 Enacted on December 16, 2014 Revised section 484(d) of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA) Provides Title IV eligibility to certain students without a valid high school diploma Student must: Enroll in an eligible career pathway program Demonstrate “ability-to-benefit” by meeting scores on an approved ATB test

Developmental education accountability Section 1008.30 (6)(b), Florida Statutes, states: Beginning October 31, 2015, each Florida College System institution shall annually prepare an accountability report that includes student success data relating to each developmental education strategy implemented by the institution. The report shall be submitted to the Division of Florida Colleges by October 31 in a format determined by the Chancellor of the Florida College System. By December 31, the chancellor shall compile and submit the institutional reports to the Governor, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the State Board of Education.

Developmental education accountability: Reporting components and process Components Introductory narrative Student success in developmental education course strategies Process 1.The division will develop a report for each college based on annual database submissions 2.Each college will have an opportunity to review and provide feedback 3.College reports will be compiled after feedback is received 4.The division will compose an introductory narrative and submit the compiled report no later than December 31, 2015

Nursing review Curriculum frameworks are under review for 2016-17 General interest in reducing associate degree program lengths Nursing is included in the review Currently 72 college credits Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Standard 4 Curriculum, Criterion 4.7 “There is lack of evidence that the program length is congruent with national guidelines and best practices.”
