The two categories of exercise are: Aerobic exercise Anaerobic exercise Aerobic exercise: Aerobic exercise works a very important muscle in your body—your heat. It also benefits the lungs. Examples include stair climbing, swimming, running, biking, and many forms of dancing. Anaerobic exercise: Examples include lifting weights, gymnastics, and football. aerobic exercise Rhythmic, nonstop, moderate to vigorous activity that requires large amounts of oxygen anaerobic exercise Intense physical activity that requires little oxygen but uses short bursts of energy
