Did you know? A crack as small as 1.5mm around a window frame can let in as much cold air as a 75mm square hole in the wall. Shut your curtains to keep the heat in.
5
Did you know? A dripping tap leaks one drop per second. That can add up to 750 litres a month. That is more than 1 person uses in 2 weeks. Fix leaky taps.
6
Did you know? If you place lamps and lights in the corner of a room, the light will reflect off both walls as well as the ceiling. Your lighting is more efficient here than if the lamp is in the centre of the room
7
Did you know? By recycling one can you save enough energy to run a television for 3 hours. Recycle your cans.
8
Did you know? If you recycle 1 plastic bottle the energy you save can power a 60 Watt bulb for 3 hours. Recycle your plastic bottles wherever possible.
9
Did you know? If a charger feels warm when it's plugged in without being attached to a device, it's wasting energy. Unplug mobile phone and laptop chargers when you're not using them to save electricity and money.
10
Did you know? Every time you open the fridge door up to 30% of the cold air can escape. Keep the fridge door shut.
11
Did you know? Leaving one computer and monitor 24 hours a day costs over £50 a year in electricity. Switching off completely out of normal working hours, and not leaving them on standby, cuts this to £15 a year.
12
You might not know that You should dust light bulbs every once in a while. Dusty light bulbs block out half the light you receive. The dusty light bulb converts more electrical energy to heat than light
13
Even energy-efficient light bulbs? Yes. Clean them too!
14
